I’ve been focusing lately on more technical issues, such as domain names and ways to subscribe to blogs you want to read.

These are important because when you blog, you need to work on two main fronts: content and technical.

And you have to evaluate each of these for usability, usefulness, and marketing issues. A blog not only gets your ideas out there, but, done correctly, it also gets your ideas (and you) noticed.

The content is the fun part for most people — it’s where you get a soap box on which to stand, hold forth, and awe the wandering crowd with your wisdom.

The technical aspects are also fun for geeks like me. Yes, I think computers are fun, and the internet is even more fun.

I intend CTBizBlogs to have articles and to offer services helping busy business owners with both content and technical aspects. Technical details are probably the most needed — busy business people don’t have time to both write posts and keep tabs on the site. You need to do things like make sure the site’s running ok, keep on top of server issues, keep comments clear of spam.

We’ll also offer help on the content side — with advice on what to write about, copyediting, and other editorial services. I have a published writer waiting in the wings. I haven’t asked her to check my copy, but maybe I should. She does read this blog and hasn’t told me yet that I’m illiterate, so I guess my prose and spelling are at least acceptable. I usually remember to run everything through the spell checker before I click the “Publish” button.

I haven’t forgotten about the loose threads from previous posts that I have hanging on the content side, mainly, on how to use blogs to build your business — the third “bullet point” of my personal blogging manifesto. Expect to get a steady stream of posts with more thoughts on that and all aspects of blogging that I think might be of use to you small business owners getting into blogs.
